Our next meeting for the 2019 Fallen Hero Memorial Ride will be on May 10th at 10:00 AM in the AIU Classroom  2222 W. Encanto Boulevard, in Phoenix has been reserved for our meeting.     

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER IN 2019

February 1, 2019 – We will start accepting rider/passenger registration and volunteer applications.


August 1 through 31, 2019 – Late registration for rider/passenger registration.


September 1 through November 2, 2019 – Last minute registration for rider/passenger registration.


September 20, 2019 – Rider/Passenger/Volunteer check-in for the northern ride, Prescott.


September 21, 2019 – Northern ride and barbecue in Flagstaff.


October 18, 2019 – Rider/Passenger/Volunteer check-in for the southern ride, Tucson.


October 19, 2019 – Southern ride and barbecue in Tucson.


November 1, 2019 – Rider/Passenger/Volunteer check-in for the central ride, Phoenix.


November 2, 2019 – Central ride, closing ceremonies and barbecue in Phoenix.

Upcoming Events AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION

2019 FALLEN HERO MEMORIAL RIDE & DPS 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

We are planning a multi-day charity motorcycle ride throughout Arizona to honor the fallen heroes of Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS). All net funds will be donated to the Concerns of Police Survivors, Arizona (C.O.P.S., AZ), a non profit 501(c)(3) corporation.


The first event will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019, in Prescott, Arizona. Riders and support volunteers, if it can be done safely, will ride to each of the DPS fallen heroes monuments in northern Arizona where a ceremony will be held. At the conclusion of the day, all participants and other guests will be invited to a catered barbecue at Ft. Tuthill Park in the Flagstaff, Arizona. We will also be holding a 50/50 Raffle at the barbecue.


The second event will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019, in Tucson, Arizona. Riders and support volunteers will ride to each of the DPS fallen heroes monuments in southern Arizona where a ceremony will be held. At the conclusion of the day, all participants and other guests will be invited to a catered barbecue at the Crossroads Park in Marana, Arizona. We will be holding a 50/50 Raffle at the barbecue also.     


The last leg of the event will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019. This leg of the event will start at Desert Wind Harley-Davidson, 922 S. Country Club Drive in Mesa.  Riders and support volunteers will ride to each of the DPS fallen heroes monuments in central Arizona where a ceremony will be held. At the conclusion of the day, family members and the participants from all three events and other guests will be invited to the closing festivities at the Arizona Department of Public Safety Headquarters in  Phoenix. During this barbecue we will be have a 50/50 Raffle, raffling a 2019 Honda CRL 450 motorcycle and numerous other prizes.  


The closing ceremonies will include a procession of the motorcycles and volunteers to the DPS Headquarters Fallen Hero Monument, guest speakers, raffle prizes and a catered barbecue (donated by  Matt's Classic Dogs and the Coalition of DPS Retirees, Inc.).


Our Purpose

Our purpose and goal is to ensure our fallen heroes are not forgotten, raise money for the Concerns of Police Survivors, Arizona Chapter, who provide long term assistance to the families of police officers killed in the line of duty. 


To make this a very successful event we will need a tremendous number of sponsors, volunteers and participants who do not ride necessarily have to ride motorcycles!
